Knife club was formed in 2006, originally the idea was that each member of Adventure club would make their own knife, but it has evolved now into a club where members make all sorts of knives, camping and bushcraft gear. Prototypes of new ideas and inventions are made and tried out.
We test a lot of kit at Adventure club and Knife club is often the base for improvements, repairs and additions to standard equipment. Sharing our extensive engineering, handicraft, bushcraft and camping knowledge enables us to re-engineer imperfect products and often invent new ones.
Every Tuesday evening we meet in the workshop and talk over all sorts of subjects; knife making, bushcraft and our current craft-work projects. We plan our adventures, work out kit requirements and study maps for suitable locations. We also drink large quantities of tea and often have a Chinese meal delivered.
Day trips are occasionally organized walks, hikes a trip to the Imperial War Museum are typical examples.
Each year before Christmas we have our club AGM. Members can bring their wives and we go out for a meal and a few drinks.
